Marriott wanted to create a place for owners and prospective owners to read articles in a non-sales area, somewhere to make them a "better vacation-er" the site would house articles on ownership, travel, and destinations there was a resort nearby.
The partner wanted a blog that would be user-focused with minimal marketing content
Working directly with the client, I brainstormed some ideas of layouts and flows, the initial consensus was one main article, two tiles to direct to a section and then just a list of following articles, someway for the user to subscribe, and the ability to share articles to social media.
After speaking with the editor, I worked out several flows of layouts for differing article types, enabling items like maps and directions for articles based on resorts, and magazine style image layouts for articles that were more long form and picturesque
Being a fast-tracked project the priority was to get the blog out and start testing and iterating on it as soon as possible. I worked continually on reflowing content, and user flows to shape the blog into a streamlined interface using user reviews, screen recordings and heatmaps to inform the UX and UI elements.
